My amazing and adorable husband has a dream. A dream to sail in the Texas 360. It is a regatta, one of the biggest in the United States! He has wanted to do this for at least 10 years and finally this year is his year. He has been preparing for the past three moment. Putting a lot of time, energy and money onto his dream, with my full support. He is so excited. So, right now, he is there, in South Padre Island getting ready to sail his catamaran in his dream regatta…. We hope….
One challenge he has right now is the weather! They have had hurricane warnings, major rain and storms and looking at severe flooding, etc. What this means is that:
Number 1, the safety of the sailors is at risk
Number 2, the ground crews can not get to each location as the flooding will wash out the roads and put their safety at risk as well.
Number 3, he will have driven 24 hours, to in turn, drive back.
Number 4, everyone associated with the event will be very disappointed.
Number 5, see number 4
Now, I absolutely believe that all will be as it is meant to be.
I know I can not change the weather, but I can hold the vision of a perfect, safe sail for all. And, I would love some help in sending love, light and prayers to all involved, so that the best decisions for everyone will be made. Please join me in supporting all of the Captains, Crew and decision makers that the highest good be done.
This is a BIG event in Texas, and we want everyone to be safe most importantly and have fun, secondly. Lets hope they can sail the regatta and accomplish both of those…. and fulfill many peoples dreams, including my sweet husbands.
Thanks in advance – Sunny
Brett with his best friend Mike, who will be at the race, in spirit, with him!
Update 6/17/2015 10 am PDT – At this point, right now, they have postponed the race by one day… so, it will start tomorrow. They are doubling the last two days together… so it will be a LONG race for them.. 3 days instead if 4, but it looks like they will get to race. If the weather moves up the coast like it should, then they will be ok…. a lot depends on the next 18 hours. Please keep the vision of safety and joy for all of the crew, both on the water and on the ground.
Urgent love, healing and prayer request – of a different nature!
