I always love the energy of the full moon – well … almost always. Sometime it gets a bit intense, which is why I ask people that tune into moon energy to let me know, in advance …  what to be mindful of. I’m one of those types of people that would rather have awareness ahead of time … than not … so… Here is some great info for this month’s FULL MOON by Melissa Corter – Enjoy – SDJ ♥
September 24th Full Moon in Aries
This fiery Full Moon in the sign of Aries can have us feeling a little hotheaded and brash if we are not listening to the gentle nudge of the spirit. Each Full Moon is a direct window into the subconscious mind including all you are triggered by. Channel the fire of Aries into passion and connection this month. It is a great time to refrain from being impulsive, and pulling back to include the intentions and perspectives of those around you.
The desire may be to speed up, although it will serve you to slow the pace and create an internal dialogue with yourself; checking in to see where your mind and thoughts are.  This feisty energy is good for the fire signs; others will need to formulate a sense of balance if they feel the rapid pace igniting fear or anxiety. Work through stubbornness and resistance; the end goal is near and you are close! This moon’s supportive energy involves qualities of perseverance, persistence, and a grounded form of action… rushing will not help you! There is plenty of time to get things done and the available energy is here to remind you of that. Be the pioneer that you are; while summoning courage and take risks in areas you already have a little bit of knowledge in, this is not the time to start something brand new.
“Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.”
The September full moon is also known as the Full Corn Moon or Full Harvest Moon. This full moon’s name is attributed to Native Americans as it marked when corn was supposed to be harvested. Most often, the September full moon is actually the Harvest Moon, which is the full Moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox. In two years out of three, the Harvest Moon comes in September, but in some years it occurs in October. At the peak of harvest, farmers can work late into the night by the light of this Moon. Usually the full Moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the Moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night: just 25 to 30 minutes later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of Canada and Europe. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and wild rice the chief Indian staples are now ready for gathering. (Farmer’s Almanac)
Tips for The September 2018 Aries Full Moon:
Fire is the potent transformer of this time. Aries is a fire sign, therefore look at how fire responds to its surroundings and how it has the potential to serve you… in a contained and safe manner. As with any element, it’s best to honor and respect the power it holds; set an intention to invoke the wisdom and medicine of the element. Fire can illuminate hidden issues or concerns and bring courage and power to areas you may feel insecure within. Invoke the spirit of fire before you speak, share, or act during this Full Moon. Use fire in ceremony to burn away anything that no longer serves you by writing and releasing your feelings. Fire can ignite your will, desire, and passion. Call in the spirit of fire to help you feel brave and confident when facing fears or endeavors that intimidate you, let the element of fire remind you of your own innate power.
If you are already quite confident and courageous, keep in touch with this part of you, minding the ego and walking a line of patience with strategy. Fire out of balance can burn you if you ignore the signs. An Aries Full Moon can bring out the best or worst in people, be the one who utilizes personal power by taking the higher road when others are practicing working out their own power struggles. Not all battles need to be fought, some can be witnessed from afar. Be the observer and you will remove yourself from unnecessary drama that may unfold for others with the energy of this Full Moon.

Ways You Can Connect to This Full Moon:

  1. Find out when the moon rise is in your city by going here:
  2. Find a place where you can see, or sense the energy of the full moon. Preferably a comfortable position with the moon in sight.
  3. With pen and paper within reach, place your hand on your heart and ask yourself, “what part of me holds onto fear? What action can I take to let this fear go? How can I reveal the illusion underneath this fear?
  4. Take 5 to 10 deep breaths as you repeat the questions to yourself or out loud. Feel the breath moving through you, and let it carry with it the emotion, story, or awareness to the surface.
  5. Allow yourself to write out everything that comes up….do not censor or try to change anything. Let it be nothing more then energy taking form with words, and you are simply the vessel to let it move out.
  6. If you feel guided, safely burn the paper(s) from your writing in a ceremonial fire, intending for the energy to continue being transformed.

**Reminder: each full moon will impact you for up to 3 days prior to the full moon and 3 days after the full moon.
Full Moons are always powerful times for releasing and letting go, and honoring all you have received during the past 29-day cycle of a lunar cycle. Try creating your own ceremony or honoring of this time to embrace the energy that this time has to help you create space in your life for what you truly desire. As always remember, you are not alone in experiencing this phase, be mindful of this when encountering others over these next few days. Send them love as they are also shining a light on themselves and may be extra sensitive during this time. The next full moon is on October 25th, in the sign of Taurus it is known as the Full Hunter’s Moon. ~Melissa Kim Corter
