I always love the energy of the full moon – well … almost always. Sometimes it gets a bit intense, which is why I ask people that tune into moon energy to let me know, in advance … what to be mindful of. I’m one of those types of people that would rather have awareness ahead of time … than not … so … Here is some great info for this month’s FULL MOON by Melissa Corter – Enjoy – SDJ ♥
October 13th 2019 Full Moon in Aries
October’s Full Moon in the sign of Aries brings in the light! A time to let enchantment lead you, and call out your inner child to emerge with joy and a creative spirit. This Moon is quite the shift from the more intense energy we witnessed during the Pisces Full Moon last month. This comes with much relief for those who were challenged and perhaps even confused with all of the emotions from that time.
Aries is a fire sign, so let off some steam, play, and have fun. Be mindful of the inner child who becomes childish instead of childlike; this could be a shadow surfacing with the magnifying quality of the Full Moon. If you find yourself reacting, see where you may have been all work and no play, restricting your joy and freedom. Fire signs can be feisty or hotheaded depending on the trigger before them; this is not to create judgment, but awareness. How do you handle being in the hot seat or having the shadow brought to you to examine?
This Moon can also show us how we have chosen to take on too much, inviting us to put things down and let them go. You need not hold the world together for it to continue on. Choose what brings you joy; see if there is an opportunity for a perspective shift within whatever doesn’t light you up, especially duties or obligations you must work within. It is a great time to ignite your creativity and let if flow through you! Releasing the baggage only hones that energy further for more aligned usage of your gifts.
With all Full Moons and fire energy, there comes balance. Use the support of the moon and at the same time be mindful of areas where resistance enables you to blame or project onto others; likely in areas you feel insecure or inadequate. There may also be a surge of energy with the fire sign of Aries, this is easy to misinterpret for anxiety or overwhelm, when truly it is energy that calls for an outlet. Create, play, paint, dance, and move your body!
This full Moon is often referred to as the Full Hunter’s Moon, Blood Moon, Witches Moon, or Sanguine Moon. Many moons ago, Native Americans named this bright moon for obvious reasons. The leaves are falling from trees, the deer are fattened, and its time to begin storing up meat for the long winter ahead. Because the fields were traditionally reaped in late September or early October, hunters could easily see fox and other animals that come out to glean from the fallen grains. Probably because of the threat of winter looming close, the Hunter’s Moon is generally accorded with special honor, historically serving as an important feast day in both Western Europe and among many Native American tribes. Tips for the October 13th Full Moon:
Get fired up and let your light shine! Use the additional energy available to complete creative projects or start new ones. Old habits like to come out when we feel unsettled or uncertain, calm the mind and allow your inner talk to become gentle yet firm, retraining the mind and body to feel safe with more energy running through you. Hot salt baths, time in nature, walking/running/yoga, journaling, and physical activities can help you adjust to the energy and feel inspired to work with it. Allow the creativity to move through you, even if it brings forth old memories, sometimes this is the way we feel safe to release the old through the presence of a creative present moment project, it is nothing to fear!
Ways you can allow this Full Moon to support you:
- Find out when the moon rise is in your city by going here: http://www.timeanddate.com/moon/
- Find a place where you can see or sense the energy of the full moon. Preferably a comfortable position with the moon in sight. If you can sit outside, on the earth for this exercise you may notice a larger shift.
- Bring a journal/notebook, and writing utensil for this experience.
- As you sit in the moonlight, hold the your journal in your hands, allowing the Moonlight to touch it. Imagine the light of the moon flowing down through the top of your head and out through your arms and hands.
- Bring to mind, something you are ready to let go of and something else you wish to complete or get started.
- Start writing out everything that comes to you about the thing you would like to let go of, imagining it leaving your body and mind as you write.
- When you have finished writing, turn to a fresh page and do the same thing for the thing you wish to complete or get started.
- As you let go of the old, you are creating space for the new. Ask your higher self, “what is my next step to complete or get started with my intention?
- Take time to continue writing or planning your next step.

Full moons are always powerful times for releasing and letting go. Try creating your own ceremony or honoring of this time to embrace the energy that this time has to help you create space in your life for what you truly desire. As always remember, you are not alone in experiencing this phase, be mindful of this when encountering others over these next few days. Send them love as they are also shining a light on themselves and may be extra sensitive during this time. The next full moon is in the sign of Taurus on November 12th and is known as the Full Beaver Moon.
