March 18th, 2022 Full Moon in Virgo

This Virgo Full Moon is all about the details. Pay close attention to how things feel – notice people, objects, spaces, thoughts, commitments – it all matters! Reflect and evaluate where your time and energy are going, and if it still serves you. Prioritize alignment and simplify the areas you feel might be a bit complicated or overwhelming. It is time to examine them and break them down into manageable steps. The physical body (and health in general) come into focus during a Virgo Full Moon. It is the perfect time to begin a new workout routine or form of movement, especially if you have put it off during the winter months.

In addition to the physical body and movement, sleep is also key. Pay attention to your natural sleep cycles, also known as circadian rhythms. They have a direct link to health and overall wellbeing. Virgo impacts cycles and stress responses; this is why evaluating energy is important during this time. Meditation can help attune the body and mind to counterbalance any stress you may be experiencing.

March’s Full Moon is also known as the Full Worm Moon. As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon and was considered to be the last Full Moon of winter.

Service is another very important element of the Virgo Full Moon. If you are feeling called to lead, teach, guide, direct, or inspire others – this is your time! Do not second guess this inner calling; it is a pull from your soul to expand and be of service to others. Consider it the voice of the universe telling you that you are needed and there is already a divine space for you to lead and teach from. You would not feel the tug if the people didn’t already have a need. Set aside doubt and disbelief; open to the deeper wisdom within.

Virgo is an Earth element, which means you might want to take things slow and find your footing as certain actions are set in motion. Ground and center but do not delay or talk yourself out of taking action. Routines, a schedule, and consistency can help anchor you more deeply into your purpose and allow energy to free flow more easily.

We will be more successful in all our endeavors if we can let go of the habit of running all the time and take little pauses to relax and re-center ourselves. And we’ll also have a lot more joy in living.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Tips for March Full Moon in Virgo:

Move energy, mentally and physically – find a routine to honor the sacred vessel that contains your soul. There is a natural undercurrent supporting you to focus on the body. The Full Moon invites you to sense more motivation and determination. Movement can be fun; you will likely be more consistent if you enjoy the movement instead of forcing yourself into an action you dislike.

Prioritize the body, and remember to also examine the areas in your life you feel you are leaking energy out. If it feels draining, it is time to recycle that energy into a more aligned situation or circumstance.

Ways you can allow this Full Moon to support you:

  1. Find out when the moon rise is in your city by going here: http://www.timeanddate.com/moon/
  2. Find a place where you can see or sense the energy of the Full Moon – preferably a comfortable position with the moon in sight. If you can sit outside on the earth for this exercise you may notice a larger shift.
  3. Have your journal, or a piece of paper and writing instrument nearby. The Full Moon is the feminine aspect of our being. She can help release and reveal all things ready to find a way to the surface.
  4. Scan your daily activities in your mind. Notice who and what you engage with. As you sit with each one, ask yourself how it feels.
  5. Take note of people, actions, habits, behaviors, responses, and time. What has your attention? Does this still feel good? Is there a closure needed?
  6. Sit in this space of inquiry with self, asking and witnessing.
  7. Commit to taking action and prioritizing health, body, and energy. What changes need to take place? How will you honor these changes? Make a plan and bring it into form by giving it energy every day, one action at a time.

*Reminder: each Full Moon will impact you for up to 3 days prior to the Full Moon and 3 days after the Full Moon.

Full Moons are always powerful times for releasing and letting go. Try creating your own ceremony or honoring of this time to embrace the energy that this time has to help you create space in your life for what you truly desire. As always, remember, you are not alone in experiencing this phase. Be mindful of this when encountering others over these next few days. Send them love as they are also shining a light on themselves and may be extra sensitive during this time. The next Full Moon is on April 16th and is in the sign of Aries.
