It was the hardest thing (outside of the recent death of my son). I will never forget what the intake person at the Humane Society told me "remember, you are doing this for HER, not for you." This was so heart breaking for us but for them it was giving them our love to be healthy and whole again. We missed them terribly, but we know they are having a wonderful time running and playing with our parents and loved one now who are enjoyin theri new lives. Nothing triggered it. The tears just flowed. Working at the Vet it still never gets any easier seeing another one pass. It simply can bring people to their knees.
