Sunny’s Blog

This morning, my family had to let our 2 black lab mix dogs, that we have had for over 14 years, return to the spirit world. It was such a gut wrenching choice, but a choice made with much love and compassion. For several months now, we have known that the time would come to make this decision, as they were both almost completely blind, deaf, and had hip dysplasia and arthritis. For them, just getting up and walking had become tough. So, it was time. We made the appointment, with broken hearts last week.

AS the universe would have it, we woke up this morning to rain, which isn’t real common in Arizona… and our dogs, Brutus and Zainey (brother and sister) love the rain. We woke to them happy and tails a wagging… I thought, maybe we are suppose to keep them for a bit longer, but my spirit said different. My spirit said they were happy, tails waggin because they were ready to go home. To choose new bodies that are healthy, if they so desired, and to play in doggy heaven.

And, so it is with sadness and happiness for their freedom that I write this, asking for prayers for my family, especially my son Crew, who has had these dogs since he was three. It took Brutus less than 10 seconds to transition and Zainey less than a minute. For those of you that have walked this path, I send you my love as well. It was my first experience letting go of a pet, and I hope it will be my last.

What I learned from this experience  that LOVE really is letting go:)

I AM

I am spirit, I am consciousness, I am life, I am loveable and capable, I am worthy and valuable. I am one of nature’s greatest miracles.

I am a unique and precious human being. No one in the universe is quite the same or has exactly the same impact on the world as my own self. Even though my awareness may differ from others, my importance and worthiness are equal with all.

My loyalty is firstly to my true self and what is true for me. I have no need to worship others opinions or creeds. I stand up for my own thoughts and images. That way, I am consciously in charge of my own life. I can create for myself as I chose. I have inner strength, wisdom and compassion, sufficient to handle everything I will meet.

Knowing that my body and actions do not always reflect the spirit that is in me, I allow myself the freedom to make mistakes, to be wrong, to fail or be defeated and be less than perfect without feeling guilty or inferior.

I do not defer wealth, power or prestige. I can say “NO” even when I know it will displease others. I do not let others talk me into things against my better judgement. I do not deny my own needs or feelings to please other people.

I acknowledge my mistakes, for in the whole of my life, in every situation I have done and always will do the best I can, with what I know, have and the circumstances at the time. In giving up feelings of remorse, guilt or shame for any of my past actions, I now have loving feelings towards myself, for I am worthy and have every reason to have a good opinion if myself.

I refrain from judging or having expectations of others and I am free of resentment and bitterness. I allow ALL PEOPLE the right to their own unique awareness. I do not allow personal comparasons to effect my self worth, nor do I attempt to prove my worth by accomplishments, for my very existance proves my worth.

I am patient, kind and gentle with myself for I accept myself totally and unconditionally, I am OK. I acknowledge I can recognise everything true and beautiful in other beings, that means those qualities must also live in me.

I am the soul and I am an indestructable spiritual being.

I started this blog to connect with all of you. My students, clients, colleagues, friends and family members. I feel like it is a good way for me to connect with you as well as to connect with the gifted writer that is within me, waiting to come out! Through this blog, I intend to write a few times a week, and therefore take steps toward writing the many books that are also within me.

This blog will be about all different types of things. You may get to know me better than you wanted to. I intend to discuss whatever it is that is on my mind or in my heart at any given time. I have learned through many life experiences that the times i would rather not share my experiences, out of embarrassment judgement or otherwise, are the times where others (you) could learn the most from me. SO, My intention is simple… To share with you …. ME. My thoughts, ideas and issues in an honest and open way.

Here is my bio…a bit about me:)

As a loving and caring Spiritual Teacher, Sunny Dawn Johnston has helped thousands of people across the country find their inner truth. As a child, with the support of her metaphysical parents, Sunny was given the opportunity to find her own truth, beliefs, and life path. She was a gifted child and has since devoted her life to the enhancement of her spiritual gifts and to the application of these gifts with humanity.

Sunny was an international radio show host as well, hosting two of her own Internet radio shows. Her workshops and seminars at Community Colleges, Borders Bookstores, City Libraries and her own Spiritual Healing Center in Glendale, Arizona are highly attended. Sunny is also very passionate about her work as an Alzheimer¹s advocate and as a Hospice Volunteer for the Twilight Brigade.

Sunny has become widely known and respected as an International Intuitive, Medium and Spiritual Teacher. As a national speaker, Sunny’s dynamic methods effectively reach out to help people to help themselves by discovering that the answers are always within. She has been a guest speaker at The Arizona Family Women’s Expo, World Angel Day and was a speaker at the 2007 Celebrate Your Life conference! She is a Certified Spiritual Counselor, Certified Medium, Reiki Master/Teacher, Ordained Minister, Hypnotherapist and has created 3 Guided Meditation CDs and co-authored a book.

In December 2003, Sunny founded Sunlight Alliance, a spiritual teaching and healing center in Glendale, Arizona. She felt there needed to be a spiritual center where people could go for guidance and direction and to find a support system of like-minded people. Sunlight Alliance offers classes designed to create awareness and knowledge about a variety of spiritual subjects such as: Angel Classes, Reiki Certification, Law of Attraction, Heal Your Life, Divine
Guidance, Mediumship, Intuitive Development, Death and Dying and many, many more. Sunny has also created the Sunlight Alliance Foundation, a non profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to changing the world, one person at a time, through Spiritual awareness, holistic healing and workshops to teach these modalities of healing and unconditional love.

Sunny also volunteers her time as a psychic investigator for the international organization FIND ME. This is a not-for-profit organization of Psychic, Investigative, and Canine Search & Rescue (SAR) volunteers working together to provide leads to Law Enforcement and Families of missing persons and homicide. http://www.findme2.com.
